Getting the little ones to care about their teeth is a mammoth of a task for the parents; more so if the parents do not care much about their own dental health. But then this is one of those things that you have to do as a parent to ensure the good oral health of your kids when they are grown-up. Here are three tips that will ease this task for you:
1. Don’t teach them – show them
Instead of telling them what needs to be done, show them. Don’t be a preacher to them – be an example. Brush yourself twice every day for at least 2 minutes. Floss and mouth-wash yourself; go and see the dentist often; talk about your dental health often. Your kids will pick up from your actions.
2. Give them the right food
There are some foods that are good for your dental health and then there are those that are bad. Feed your kids the former ones. It includes dairy products like cheese, milk and plain yogurt; also, fiber-rich fruits and vegetables. As much as possible, avoid starchy foods, sticky candies, and sweets.

This is essential. Whether you think their oral health is good or bad, you must take them to a good child dentist in Kolkata for regular check-ups.
